Robert L. Bailey, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.

Prior to establishing a private practice, Dr. Bailey, a native of Mississippi, attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Bailey completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, where he served as Chief Resident from 1989-1990. He has been in private practice since moving to Florence in 1990.

Dr. Bailey and his wife, Gina, have 3 children, Bethany, Trey, and Nate. His interests include Alabama football and gardening.

Gregory L. Bearden, M.D.

The newest member of the group, Dr. Bearden joined the practice in August, 2006. He completed his residency in general surgery at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, Alabama, where he served as Chief Resident from 2005-2006. Dr. Bearden, a lifelong resident of Alabama, was born and raised in Birmingham and attended college at Birmingham – Southern. He attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham.

He and his wife, Lindsay, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Maggie.

Gary L. Hester, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Hester is a native of Sheffield, Alabama. He attended both the University of Alabama and the University of South Alabama in Mobile for his undergraduate studies. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Dr. Hester has been in private practice in Florence since 1981.

He and his wife, Bonnie, have a daughter, Laura. His interests include chess, travel and photography.

C. Wesley Marchman, M.D., F.A.C.S.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Marchman received his undergraduate degrees from Georgia Tech. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. His internship and residency were spent at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi and at East Carolina University School of Medicine. Dr. Marchman was a clinical instructor in the Department of Surgery at East Carolina University School of Medicine before moving to Florence to begin his private practice in 1994.

He and his wife, Elizabeth, have five children: Daniel, Helen, Charles, Rebecca, and Benjamin. His interests include Georgia Tech football and golf.
